Chemistry - Understanding Dimers

Chemistry - Understanding DimersHaving understood the importance of having an understanding of two-component structure of solids and fluids, you need to be aware of what are the properties of dimers. While these components of solids and fluids have different physical properties, there are several points of overlap. For instance, the chemical bonding, atomic radius and size distribution of one component with another can influence the dynamics and behavior of the other component. These components of solids and fluids can also share common mechanisms.First of all, a Cooper-type (or lip-spanner) molecule is a dipole and a compound is a conductor with a covering of an electrically conducting layer. On the other hand, a Compton-type (or chamber) molecule is a long-chain material. A spintronic (or spintronic spin-orbit joint) molecule has four identical orbital states, a quark and an antiquark are one of the most common spintronic states. The electron configuration of a group of spintronic states can be either conduction or annihilation depending on the parity. If the electron configuration of the group is close to its valence (electron energy), then the electron spins will take on a north-south direction; otherwise, the spins will take on an east-west direction. A chiral molecule is also a condensate. The ideal structure of a gas molecule can be considered as consisting of a pair of polar species and a non-polar chiral dimer containing di- or tri-carboxylic acid of various formulaic structures. In addition, these may have the effect of reducing molecular complexity. At first, they seem that a chemical bond can be created between one pair of molecules, so that the hydrogen atom of one molecule joins the carbon atom of the other. As an example, this is a commonly found process in making two very popular amines (the most frequently used organic compounds). A demerol is a strong but small-sized non-polar molecule.A demerol is a highly soluble dimeric organic compound, usu ally composed of three units which have a specific shape (residues) and size (fluids). There are many structural types of this organic compound, the most commonly found are the amide, alkene and arylene dimers. Each type of Demerol is easily soluble in organic solvents, for example ethanol, dichloromethane and chloroform. However, the level of solubility is determined by the molecular weight of the molecule.Genetic Engineering can also be performed in plants. The process of genetic engineering is called transgenic plants. One of the most interesting and effective methods of genetic engineering is through the application of di- or tri-carboxylic acids as analogs to make a hydrogen-bonding dimer.Characteristic of the dimers are the arrangement of double bonds. In the case of the acid molecule, the cleavage sites of the nitrogen atoms and carbonyl groups can be substituted. In the case of the alcohol molecules, a cyclization is usually necessary to produce a conformation which can part icipate in the hydrogen bonding activity. If this is the case, then the position of the acid or alcohol group should be replaced with a hydroxyl group.Depending on the reaction kinetics, radicals can be produced. Examples of reactions that can be performed on these radicals are oxidation, hydrolysis and acid hydrolysis. Depending on the reaction kinetics, radicals can be generated, and the radicals can react with these radicals and change into a less reactive species.Chemistry can be difficult and it needs a lot of time and patience. There are some people who are able to learn a lot about the chemistry of solids and liquids through online sources. This will help them in acquiring the basic knowledge on the subject, so that they can understand the chemistry and recognize their errors.

Geopolitics Around the World

Geopolitics Around the World How do Geopolitics Shape Our World? ChaptersWhat Are Geopolitics?Geopolitics in AfricaGeopolitics in the Middle EastEuropean GeopoliticsGeopolitics in RussiaAsian GeopoliticsGeopolitics in Latin AmericaWe humans are social animals. Being social â€" interacting and cooperating in spite of our differences, has everything to do with ensuring our continued survival.A part of what shapes our experiences is the environment we live in: the resources available and how they are employed, whether nations covet riches in lands not theirs and how such conflicts are resolved. The definition of politics includes ‘... the debate or conflict among individuals having or hoping to achieve power.’How does that definition change when placing the prefix 'geo-' in front of 'politics'?Today, countries don’t (necessarily) engage in the use of force to access riches enjoyed by people in other lands â€" and thus gain power. We tend to settle transnational disputes or come to an arrangement for sharing resources through mediation and trade a greements.Still, the foundation for both the disputes and the resolutions lies largely in the resources that can be brought to the table. When seen from that aspect, geography plays a large part in the politics of today. But just how far-reaching is geopolitics? Can one nation have an impact on a country that is not its immediate neighbour? And which lands hold the riches that would make it a world power? Now, we look at global geopolitics as well as the geopolitics of individual regions; the effects of such politics and the prospective benefits to humankind’s future.Government: internal policy issues, economic policy, foreign policies and how they manage rivalries with other countries and within their borders.Does economics play a role in geopolitics? Find out in our full-length article on the subject...Geopolitics in AfricaHaving thrown off the shackles of European colonialism only in the last 70 years or so, the nations that make up the world’s second-largest continent are stil l trying to find their way onto the global political stage. While relations between African nations are mostly neutral, some countries have risen up against authoritarian regimes, causing their internal politics to endure seismic shifts in power.Strangely enough, while the great powers of the world cast anxious (or covetous) eyes on other global political hotspots such as the Middle East and Latin America, in Africa, it is only the most dramatic incursions that seem to make headlines. The tensions in African nations have little to do with global security or world politics... yet. There is one superpower that has taken a special interest in developing countries in Africa. It is providing funding opportunities and helping to build up infrastructure.Find out who that global power is in our African geopolitics article.Political instability in the Middle East is no longer due solely to religious affiliation Image by Sharon Ang from PixabayGeopolitics in the Middle EastThe region we refer to as the Middle East is actually on the Eurasian continent. Nevertheless, in geopolitical terms, that collection of countries is thought of as an entity in its own right. And quite correctly, too! Many of the world’s affairs centre on Middle Eastern countries; in part because they account for nearly 70% of the world’s petroleum supply.Another, far less flattering reason that Middle Eastern affairs are so closely scrutinised is that some of the doctrines born in that region have a dramatic impact on international security. To date, the Islamic State has done more to cause chaos in the Middle East as well as elsewhere in the world, including causing friction between Turkey and Egypt, both of whom are considered emerging powers.Strategic studies reveal that their unique geographic position â€" the link between East Asia, Africa and Europe provides each of those nations with the ability to destabilise the entire region’s balance of power. Thus, those states, even though they are only m arginally included in international affairs, bear heavy influence on our current world order.Who is the great power of the Middle East region?Although the Iran nuclear deal that the Obama administration brokered currently has the spotlight in Middle East politics, the real mastermind of global politics... is revealed in our companion article on the subject.France and Germany, in particular, have crafted a balancing of power, with Germany considered the economic leader and France’s president actively courting international relations through his uncanny use of soft power. In fact, so adept have these two political leaders become at managing their interdependence that their combined political clout actually threatens the global American hegemony! When you think of their relationship from a historical perspective, it might seem odd that France’s former invader would be so warmly embraced. And what standing will the UK have in their international policy once our exit from the European U nion is finalised?Would you like to take a closer look at how Europe's unique dynamic evolved from being competing powers to becoming world leaders in international politics? Will the UK leaving the European Union weaken its global standing? Image by Adam Derewecki from PixabayGeopolitics in RussiaNaturally, not all is rosy in Europe, especially Eastern Europe. Many of those countries are still struggling to build a competitive economy and, after years of being controlled by their larger neighbour, finding their place in the international system of politics.Russia’s grand strategy at the end of the Second World War was to establish a buffer between herself and the unpredictable powers in Europe. To that end, the lands between Russia and western Europe were absorbed into what became known as the Soviet Union. Thus began the Cold War, a time when diplomacy failed and armed conflict was a very real possibility.Or was it?For all that the Soviet Union comprised of vast lands â€" approximat ely 1/6 of the earth’s habitable territory, it had vast  natural resources but few skilled enough to work them; a dire situation made worse by a faltering economy. And, although Russian leaders enjoyed a show of might, they actually had little the way of materials or money with which to build up military power. The end of the Cold War came about when the people behind the Iron Curtain grew so restless that Russia’s imperialism could not withstand their multi-pronged assault.Following the Cold War, Russia and associated nation-states endured an economic recession that lasted nearly a decade; some countries are still trying to recover from the economic devastation they suffered during the Cold War.As for the former Soviet Union, she’s doing only okay. She has as her head of state a crafty man who knows how to command attention; in fact, that is a major part of his foreign policy! In our Russian Geopolitics study, you can find out how Mr Putin is influencing international developmen t.Asian GeopoliticsMany people embroiled in the study of political science and international relations wonder why Soviet leaders did not more forcefully pursue their alliance with China. The fact is that the Chinese leader felt that the philosophies evolving in Russia undermined the purity of the Leninist doctrine â€" the catalyst that led to the Sino-Soviet split.Immediately after breaking off relations, Mao Ze Dong gave up on foreign affairs to focus exclusively on his vast nation-state. His  brand of nationalism proved to be particularly damaging as international institutions repeatedly condemned his practices. His successor saw China’s potential for global leadership early on; in fact, he could hardly wait to open up, welcoming international organizations and taking part in global economic affairs.Today, thanks to Deng Xiao Ping’s vision, President Xi Jinping has the power (and the capital) to tap emerging markets as far away as Venezuela, making China one of the fastest risin g stars of global governance.By no means is China the only influencer in Asia; other regional powers give the largest country in Eurasia a run for its money in world affairs...Do you know who the other heavy hitters in Asia are?Water scarcity is an increasing concern that impacts global affairs Source: Pixabay Credit: J ConegoGeopolitics in Latin AmericaAs mentioned before, China is making inroads in far-flung places such as Africa and even in South America.South America, like other regions, is a collection of nations bound by geography as well as history. These countries share several cultural elements such as language and religion. Many of them also enjoy multilateral relations through the World Trade Organisation but, as far as  their political economy, it lags behind other countries of similar development. The reason for it is that most of the population, especially in South America, is dotted along the coastline, with little development made inland â€" meaning that coastal region s have significant infrastructural development while inner provinces are nearly primaeval.Learn how Latin America's energy security outshines the rest of the world in  our longer exposé of that region's geopolitics. In Summary:Western Europe’s liberalism contrasts with the ethnic conflict and civil wars that plague African nations. Meanwhile, Russia still struggles to prove itself a leading world power. The rise of China and her perceived hegemonic tendencies clash with their constructivism and world economic endeavours â€" providing financing and resources to undeveloped countries. In our globalized world, policymakers no longer think in terms of deterrence so much as conflict management and cooperation. And, if we’re really lucky, they aim for conflict resolution.Still, flareups do occur, even in these times post-Cold War, when the threat of nuclear annihilation was at its highest.Military buildup in the South China Sea, North Korea (and the U.S.) bragging of missiles, jihadist groups still active...With all of these diverging factions, is it really possible to hope for an end to international conflict and strive for peace and security?

5 Reasons Why Youre Bored at Work - Introvert Whisperer

Introvert Whisperer / 5 Reasons Why You’re Bored at Work - Introvert Whisperer 5 Reasons Why You’re Bored at Work If you find yourself often bored at work, perhaps even most of the time, then you’re not alone. Many of us spend big chunks of our waking hours disengaged in what we’re doing, just going through the motions because that’s what we need to do in order to achieve certain results and earn a living wage. But constant boredom at work can gnaw at you. It makes life dull and unfulfilling. So in order to find a career that you look forward to waking up to, instead of dreading, it helps to know exactly why you’re bored at work. And there seem to be five main reasons why your job makes you watch the clock for the day to end, rather than fully engage your focus and energy. The work is uninteresting If you find that your work is uninteresting, then it’s going to be a real struggle to commit your full attention to it. Obviously, life can’t be interesting all of the time. There are certain mundane things that we have to do that we can’t drop just because we find them mundane. But when we’re talking about our jobs â€" which we spend 7+ hours a day doing â€" then it’s a different matter altogether. Also, there are uninteresting things we simply have to do (such as doing our tax returns), whereas we have a large degree of autonomy when it comes to our career choices. If you’re bored at work, then it may be the case that you have a job that doesn’t match your interests. There has to be at least some aspect of your job that interests you â€" the industry, company, tasks, goals, work environment or the people you work with â€" in order to feel engaged and content with what you’re doing. The work is uncreative  You may also be bored at work if you’re not able to find a creative outlet. Some of us are more inclined towards creative pursuits than others. However, having opportunities to devise and manifest original ideas is an important part of what makes work a worthwhile activity. If your work has little room for innovation, imagination, and individual input, then it will feel grey and be stifling. There’s nothing wrong doing rule-bound, routine tasks â€" they’re often necessary. But when a job is completely devoid of creativity, it can become tedious and unpleasant. The work isn’t meaningful  Meaningful work is work that makes a difference in some way or another. As humans, we strive to find meaning in our lives, and when it’s absent, we feel dissatisfied. Boredom at work could, therefore, arise from the feeling that your job is not adding value to anyone’s life or to society at large. Staving off boredom at work requires us to do tasks that can affect positive change in the world and that allow us to see the fruits of our labour. This doesn’t mean you have to become a renowned environmental campaigner or human rights lawyer. If you can help provide people with a valuable product or service that improves their lives, and can receive positive feedback about doing so, then this is also meaningful.   The work isn’t challenging enough Without challenges in our lives, we don’t grow. And work is no exception. If your job isn’t bringing out your potential and challenging you to achieve much more than you currently are, then the work can start to feel pointless and aimless. Of course, work can be challenging if you have a lot of hours to work, a lot of tasks to juggle, and a tyrannical micromanaging boss to deal with. But these aren’t the kinds of challenges that stop people feeling bored and that help them grow. They wear employees out. What you may really need to feel absorbed in your work is responsibility for a project or the development of a new skill. You’re behind a desk all day  Some of us get incredibly bored sitting behind a desk all day. Even if you spend some time chatting with co-workers, an office job may still mean that the majority of your day is sitting down, staring at a computer screen. If you’re more of the active type and feel chained to your desk, then it’s worth following a career path that allows you to work with your hands, move around a lot, be out and about or interact with people more.   Author Bio: Sam Woolfe writes for Inspiring Interns, which specialises in sourcing candidates for  internships  and  graduate jobs. Vocal Audition Crimes 3 Mistakes That Turn Judges Off

Vocal Audition Crimes 3 Mistakes That Turn Judges Off Suzy S. Have an audition coming up? You may know what TO do, but what about what NOT to do? Take a look at these tips for singing auditions in this guest post by Glendale, CA voice teacher Ben M... Let’s face it: auditions are nerve-wracking. Youre presenting your talent for somebody elses approval, and thats not easy to do. But auditions can also be a ton of fun and lead to amazing changes in your life. It’s incredibly important to make auditions a habit, even if you’re happy with where you are in your singing career. The more auditions you attend, the easier it will be to convince yourself to go to the audition in the first place, the better you will perform, and the more likely any given audition will lead to the result you want.  We’ve already covered the things you SHOULD do at an audition in a previous post. Here are the top three vocal audition crimes to avoid. 1. Letting Your Fear Take Over A teacher once had to convince me that my anxiety over auditioning has exactly 0% benefit to my performance. Many of us believe that our anxiety will somehow prepare us to perform and will cause us to do a better job because we “take it more seriously.” But theres a difference between anticipation and anxiety. It’s great to be mentally prepared and aware of what will be expected of you at an audition. But the moment it crosses over to stress, you’re wasting valuable physical and emotional energy. You’ve crossed over to the dark side, where you’re now faced with the risk of psyching yourself out, forgetting your lyrics, or creating unnecessary tension in your voice. If you find yourself in this position, take a deep breath, count to 10, remind yourself that it’s just an audition, and RELAX. Just as with vocalization, the only way to see the results you want is to let go and allow your body to arrive at and STAY at a place of rest. 2. Not Knowing Your Words By Heart There’s never an excuse not to know your lyrics at an audition. In fact, there’s every reason to ensure you know them by heart. It’s not just to prove you know the words â€" it’s about internalizing the song and spending time with it, which is one of the important tips for singing well. Once you learn how to efficiently memorize lyrics, it can actually be quite fun. The process allows you to apply your own voice to the song and make little changes in phrasing and intonation. Methods vary depending on how you learn best, but I have always found that memorizing a song line by line yields the quickest results. Sing through one line of a song until you know it, then start from the top of the song and sing up to the line you just learned. It may seem like it takes longer this way, but you’ll find that you internalize the tune much faster. Remember to do your core memorization at least one night before â€" you’ll find that the words come much easier the next day. Related Video: The Best Audition Songs for Every Voice Type 3. Going Too Far Out Of Your Sweet Spot Not everybody agrees with me here, but an audition is not the time to try something you’ve never done before. Nor is it the time to try to sound like somebody you have never sounded like. It’s tempting for singers to go over the top and show the outermost range of what they can do, but the problem with this is that you are exposing your limits to the folks auditioning you. In the process, you’re taking the attention away from what it is you do best. When an audition notice asks to “see your range,” be smart about your choices. Make sure that your audition piece is 90% in your sweet spot â€" the tried and true range and timbre of your voice. If you like, you can add a few special embellishments that show the tip of the iceberg, but don’t make that uncharted territory the meat of your audition. Besides the weakness-exposure factor, you’ll find that whatever anxiety you do carry into the audition will not work in your favor if you’re trying to hit higher notes or mask yo ur voice with a tone that isn’t yours. Lastly, don’t go at it alone!  Consulting a vocal coach is a necessity before attending a big audition. Besides helping you brush up on technique, a good coach will also be able to critique your audition and help you pinpoint weak spots, preparing you for an easy audition process that you can repeat again and again. Simple Interest

Simple Interest Simple interest is calculated on a principal amount. The simple interest is calculated by the formula; simple interest = (P * R * T/100). Here P is the principal amount borrowed or lend. R is the rate of interest in percentage. T is the total time period. The abbreviation used for representing simple interest is SI. The Total amount that is due after the time period is the sum of the initial principal amount and the simple interest amount calculated. Example 1: Find the simple interest on the amount $ 5000 with a rate of interest 5% and what is the amount due after a time period of 2 years? Solution: Given Principal amount = $ 5000. The rate of interest percentage= 5% = 5/100 = 0.05. Time period mentioned = 2 years. Simple Interest SI = I * R *T. SI = 5000 * 0.05 * 2 = $ 500. Amount due = $ 5000 + $ 500 = $ 5500 The Amount due after 2 years = $ 5500. Example 2: Find the simple interest on the amount $ 6000 with a rate of interest 4% and what is the amount due after a time period of 3 years? Solution: Given Principal amount = $ 6000. The rate of interest percentage= 4 % = 4/100 = 0.04. Time period mentioned = 3 years. Simple Interest SI = I * R *T. SI = 6000 * 0.04 * 3 = $ 720. Amount due = $ 6000 + $ 720 = $ 6720 The Amount due after 3 years = $ 6720.

9 Things To Do To Set You Up for Success in Your New Job - Introvert Whisperer

Introvert Whisperer / 9 Things To Do To Set You Up for Success in Your New Job - Introvert Whisperer 9 Things To Do To Set You Up for Success in Your New Job Congrats! After all the hard work and effort on your job search, you landed a great job. You deserve to feel excited. The next step is to start your new job and move past the learning curve. As you’re starting to think through important things like when you have to get up in the morning and when you will do your workout, there’s one very big thing to plan. How to be a major success in this job? It’s ok to admit that’s what you’re shooting for. What you do in the first 90-120 days in your new job will “set the tone” for how your time in the job (and company) will go. When you were looking for a job one of the things you had to think about was the first impression you made on decision makers. Generally, you only have one chance to make a good first impression and that chance was maybe a minute long. Your first few months on a new job are when the first impression and a lasting impression on the people you work with are formed. It is the time you build your Personal Brand. It’s a much more critical time than anyone realizes and is often written off because you’re in a learning curve. And everyone is given a break during a learning curve, right? Yes and no. Yes because we all know what learning curves are like. No, because we’re humans and still expect you to deliver. Here is your “New Job Strategy” #1 â€" Learn your job by understanding the expectations. Spend time with your boss and key co-workers to not only show you the tasks and how to do them but what do they expect. This is your performance. We get too wrapped up in the task and fail to realize that those people do have expectations for how we do the work. Ask early and often. #2 â€" Learn people and process. All businesses hang together by various processes. You may be only 1 of many in the entire clockwork of a process. If you learn the entire process or business, your ability to think outside the box goes up significantly. It will also help you to better understand how your work interplays with others. #3 â€" Learn the boss. You need to learn many things about your boss. You need to understand what their work priorities are so you can support them with your work and communication. You need to discover how they learn and how they best take in information. To ignore this is to irritate the boss and create a poor impression. #4 â€" Figure out problems and solve them. Plan on an early win. Our work is all about solving problems if you think about it. As you are going through and learning the things outlined above, be looking for problems you can solve quickly. Try to contain your solutions to your own scope of work or minimally only a couple of others. Do not attempt to solve world hunger because you won’t have the clout built up to be given money and resources. You do want to solve problems that have visibility so when you are done; it becomes an affirmation that you were a good hire. #5 â€" Do not bad mouth how things are being done. One problem newbies have sometimes is making the mistake of unearthing business problems and make disparaging remarks about them. You do not know who may have implemented the very thing you are trying to improve. Take the approach that you can see opportunities for improvement. Your approach and attitude are critical. #6 â€" Don’t boast about your previous employers/job. It doesn’t matter if you worked directly for the Pope. No one wants to hear how great things were in your other job. Its not relevant to this job and may get people wishing you had stayed at the previous job. Do not compare and don’t put down people or companies. #7 â€" Ask for feedback Don’t make the assumption that “no news is good news” when it comes to your work. Ask for feedback on a routine basis and if you have things to improve take that as a sign that you better improve quickly. #8 â€" Learn the culture You can be doing all things right but if you fail to “read” the culture and learn to adapt to it, you will never fit in. A work culture is the way people interact, how decisions get made and even language. It can include things like informal leaders within the group that need your attention. Understanding a group’s culture is tricky because it can be very subtle. It can be done with observation and asking questions. #9 â€" Build relationships While you are hunkered down learning all these new things, don’t fail to ignore that a big part of your success will be with and through other people. Make a point to get to know your co-workers. Keep in mind that your first impression will last for a long time. By doing these things, you will position yourself for success and a strong Personal Brand. Personal Branding starts with how well you speak about YOU.
